User Guide (Instruction)
To further help you along, you can refer to the following common use cases to guide you into finding a suitable hard case.
Ways you can do your search
- by the item size (minimum internal space of the case)
- by the case size (maximum external size of the case)
- search for an alternative case brand based on a Pelican case model
- filter, by features
- search combination
1. Finding the Pelican Case based on your item size.
If you want to look for a hardcase size that is closely fit to the item, the minimum-internal-space search mode can help you find the range of cases instantly.
The Finder App can recommend a list of case models that can fit your items.
In this example, we have an audio mixer with a size of 550 x 340 x 37mm.
Enter in these dimensions to the Length, Width, and Depth text fields.
Under the Advance Sizing, the “Minimum internal space” mode is already selected (by default).
Click on the optional “Add 30mm foam margin…..” This will add an additional 30mm to help you cater to a wider margin for the side foam to protect your item.
Click on the Find button.
The search result will show the list of Pelican cases that can fit your item.
2. Finding the Pelican Case based on the maximum case size.
In a situation where you have a space constraint. You are looking for the biggest size case that you can buy. Maximum-external-size mode will be helpful.
The Finder App can recommend a list of hard cases that are smaller than the size that you specify.
Key in the maximum external size of your hardcase. Length, Width and Depth.
Under the Advance Sizing, the “Maximum external size” mode is already selected (by default).
Click on the Find button.
3. Finding a Pelican Case alternative from other brands.
This mode is used when you know which Pelican case suits you but you want to explore other Pelican alternative hardcase brands and models.
The App is able to recommend from our list of over 800+ hardcase from Rugged-Box.com.
Under the section “Select Filter” ensure that the check box “All Brands” is ticked. This will allow hardcases from all the brands to be shown in the search result.
Below the section is a search text field. To find an alternative hard case for the Pelican case 1500, you can key in “1500” or “Pelican 1500“.
Click on the Find button to begin the search process.
The system will recommend a list of hard cases that are similar in size to the Pelican 1500.
You can click on the product ID to bring you to the product page for more details. There may also be a photo of the product for a quick glance.
